I had the opportunity to sit down to chat with Drew Whitney and Chuck Edens of Stonehome Games. These guys are developing some really great projects, including the Dromaria Campaign Setting. In this interview, we talk about some of their upcoming projects.
Wobble: The last time we had a big chat, you guys had just won the 2025 World Anvil Pillars of Progress award. Since then, it looks like things have really ramped up for Stonehome Games! I know you’ve got several projects in the works right now. Why don’t you tell us briefly about them and then we’ll dive into each one?
Drew: Sure thing. We have five major projects going at the moment, but the focus is on three of them right now. Our next release will be the From the Village Vault Collection. Sometime in early August that will come out on DriveThru RPG, Ko-fi, and Patreon.
Then there is Renown: The Card Game and the Kindred comic series, which is our primary focus.
We also have the Red Keep Adventure module and the Dromaria: The Covenant campaign guide as well, but they require a bunch more editing and time, so the focus is on what I’ve mentioned.
Chuck: Not to mention the slough of projects on the way backburner- The 2 Renown expansions, Late Fees, The Dromaria Lore book, etc.
From the Village Vault Collection

Wobble: Sounds like you’ve got plenty to keep you busy! From the Village Vault Collection is a compilation of a bunch of mini adventures, right?
Drew: Yeah. We updated all of our existing FtVVs to be way better and then jammed them all into one collection. They all take place in the same region of Dromaria (plus four holiday related ones) so they work well together. It’s crazy how much more we got out of them with a little reformatting and time.
Wobble: How many adventures are in the collection?
Chuck: 30 total adventures for Dungeons and Dragons 5e, ranging from levels 1-10
Wobble: That sounds great. You mentioned a release in early August. What price point are we looking at for the From the Village Vault Collection?
Drew: I don’t know how much Drive-Thru is going to charge for physical copies yet, but this will be our first book where you can buy a physical copy. As far as digital, we are looking at around the $10 mark, give or take a bit.
Wobble: Will physical copies be offered on all platforms or just DTRPG?
Drew: As of right now just DriveThru. They have the print-on-demand which makes it convenient.
Wobble: I’m excited to pick up a physical copy of Dromaria work!
Chuck: Completing a physical version of our work is a major bucket list item, for sure.
Wobble: Anything else you want to say about this collection before we move on?
Drew: As we publish the rest of Dromaria beyond this region, there will be more collections for different areas.
Chuck: Every adventure is self-contained, so you wont need much more then the info on the pages to run a great game, and while the adventure might be made for Dromaria, they would fit in easily into any setting.
Drew: In fact, Chuck just ran a part of Ignition, one of the adventures in the collection, and set us all on fire in our last D&D game.
Chuck: Proof of concept as I call it.
Wobble: Haha. It sounds like a hot product!
Kindred Comic Series by Stonehome Games

Wobble: I’m excited to talk about the Renown card game, but before we get to that, I want to talk about Kindred. The prologue comic was one of the first pieces of Dromaria content I really dove into. I just gave away a copy of the print comic on my birthday bash stream a few weeks ago — thanks for that, by the way. Tell us a little about the story of Kindred.
Drew: Sure. Well it all began as a short story Chuck wrote. I had an image from his story that I thought would be perfect in a comic book. So I found an artist, Kati Drinkwine, and we started working together. She took it WAY beyond my imagination and we got something totally unique. So with that I decided to do a six issue series called Lessons, as a way to get into Dromaria, featuring our cast of characters.
Chuck: The short I wrote was inspired by characters and settings that Drew came up with though. This comic really is the ultimate collaboration.
Drew: When you think of Dungeons and Dragons, characters have these amazing power sets. So I took the shadow sorcerer, and turned them into a superhero. Superheroes are like the US/Western version of folk heroes. Everyone know Spiderman and Superman. I thought that would be a great way to explore our world too. As our folk heroes would be similar.
Wobble: The superhero lens is something really unique when it comes to Dungeons and Dragons campaign settings, but it makes sense with the power level of high level characters.
Drew: The character of Riieyu/Kindred is a dark and brooding fella who, despite his acumen and skill, has a ton to learn.
Chuck: In a world where everyone has powers, those who chose to use theirs to act in positive ways get to become super heroes!

Chuck: The story is great and interesting and all, but its really Kati’s touch that makes the comics special.
Wobble: Kati’s artwork has a really unique style. I like her use of color.
Drew: The amount she improved between the prologue and issue one is insane. We talked about it as it was going on. She would submit a page for approval and be like “I think this is the best thing I’ve ever done.” and I would nod and be in awe.
Chuck: I can guarantee that every issue of Kindred will be better in every way then the one that came before it. We are learning to make comics in real time, and the improvements come quickly.
Wobble: Wow, those panels you shared are gorgeous! How many issues are planned for this run?
Drew: Six is the goal. Only issue 1 is done though. The rest are in limbo based on funding, but 2 and 3 are written.
Wobble: Speaking of which, you’ve got a Kickstarter for Kindred launching soon, right?
Drew: September 1st!
Chuck: We are just waiting to finalize pricing before we put up the Kickstarter prelaunch pages.
Drew: I have all our base quotes, but want to get it as low as we can, so we are waiting on a few more.
Wobble: That sounds great. Any plans for stretch goals or pledge tiers?
Drew: Yeah. We have some alt covers, we will include a fresh print run of the prologue, and then some surprises as well.

Wobble: I have a few copies of the first print run of the prologue. I know you’ve mentioned that some changes have been made since then. What’s new?
Drew: Mostly dialogue. There is also a panel where Cliff is being attacked where he looks way too happy about it. So that changed to show fear instead.
Chuck: Annabelle is a major character going forward and we wanted to show her as a much stronger character then we had originally written her. She was much too fearful in the original. We really wanted her to be more like our April O’Neil.
Drew: She is not in Issue 1 very much, but we see her storm off stage as her husband lies to the people. She will have some major parts to play in Issues 3 and beyond.
Wobble: It sounds like a great comic. I can’t wait!

Renown: The Card Game by Stonehome Games

Wobble: Speaking of great artwork, let’s talk about Renown. This is a card game you guys are working on. Is it tied into the Dromaria setting or a standalone product?
Drew: It is a stand alone project.
Chuck: The crown jewel of Stonehome games!
Drew: This is the game that formed Stonehome Games. Mitch (the other official half of Stonehome Games) and I worked on this forever ago. It began as a game where the goal was to lose, which became Martyrdom.
The more we played it and tested, the more it felt like you wanted to gain popularity and win. The losing didn’t feel right. So we flipped it and it became Renown.
That is the origin story of the game, but it has evolved a TON since the original design.

Wobble: What can players expect when playing Renown?
Chuck: They can expect a quick paced, 2-4 player game that can last anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour, where you get to play as heroic personalities (both original and familiar) deploying locations, actions, and hiring followers, all in the attempt to complete quests and be player with the most Renown at the end.
Drew: That is the core of it. Lots and lots of referential humor and super inside jokes as well.

Wobble: I saw there was a mockup of the box art too. What all comes in the box?
Drew: 1 Starting Location, 12 Personalities, 30 Quests, 112 Town Deck Cards, 1 Instruction Book. We would love to include some Renown spinners / trackers, but those will be a stretch goal to keep base costs down. And then some other bits like a play mat as well that are up in the air.
Chuck: We would also love to include a Renown coin of some kind.
Drew: Yeah, since there is a coin flip on a quest. I was looking at wooden nickels for it. Did you know they still make them?
Wobble: I didn’t know that!

Wobble: The Kickstarter for Renown also launches September 1st, right?
Drew: Yes.
Wobble: With two Kickstarters launching simultaneously, are you planning anything special for backers who support both projects?
Drew: Yes, but I don’t have it set in stone yet. I’m not sure the logistics behind doing so and have been trying to figure out the backend before committing to doing it. (Wobble’s note: Drew later mentioned the possibility of a card featuring a character from the Kindred comic, but stressed it wasn’t confirmed yet.)
Wobble: When Renown launches, where are you planning on selling it through?
Drew: We will sell it at the soon-to-be revamped StonehomeGames.com, after the Kickstarter. The site is ancient at this point, with outdated info. Our tech guy Kyle is on it, but he is a busy man. When everyone on the team works through volunteering, you sometimes have to wait a bit. (laughs)
Last week for #AskACreator day on Bluesky, I asked Drew about the artists behind Renown.
Click here to read Drew’s response and learn about all the artists working on Renown.
Wobble: Renown sounds like a great game. I can’t wait to try it. Anything else you want to tell us about the game?
Drew: It’s a labor of love and I can’t wait for people to play it.
Chuck: I can tell you that its really fun, rigorously playtested, and crafted by intelligent, game-oriented minds.
Drew: I wanted to get it out ages ago, but things finally fell into place this year. The artists deserve to see their work out there and not on my hard drive.
I wish he was online, but I can’t shoutout Sean McNiff enough. I was talking to him about this game one day at work and he showed up at my apartment with these.

Chuck: I’ve never even seen these! (laughs)
Drew: I have that Tidal Wave framed upstairs. These cards were the first “official” piece of art Stonehome Games ever got.
Wobble: That’s really great stuff. I think that about covers it for my questions. I can’t wait to see all the new releases coming from Stonehome Games in the near future. Any final comments?
Drew: Much love to you and all the Wobble family. This is just the beginning. Much to come!
Chuck: I would like to apologize in advance to my social media followers, because I am going to be talking about this A LOT!
