SML is Saturday Night Live meets Saturday morning cartoonsA collaborative, improv-based production process. A troupe of young artists and professional actor/writers work with with a Director to create at least 3 sketch comedy webisodes (among additional opportunities and ideas that the troupe decides to pursue).

Semester 1 (fall): Thursdays from 6:30-8:30pm. The troupe meets once per week to hone their improv/comedy skills and become a real improv troupe.

Semester 2 (winter/spring): Thursdays from 6:30-8:30pm, and Sundays from 4-6pm. The troupe meets twice per week. Thursdays to focus on acting technique, and Sundays to focus on sketch writing. Every few weeks the troupe films the next webisode during this rehearsal time. The webisode is edited and released the following Saturday morning. The troupe also holds a live performance at the end of the winter/spring semester, and additional live performances if the opportunities arise.

"The young artists I worked with were the most surprising team. I had no idea our work would be so groundbreaking." -Ami, Teaching Artist

"You can't just go outside the box. Go 20 miles away from the box!" -Casarra, 14- Student

"I learned to really listen." -Ben, 12- Student

"My favorite thing about rehearsals is that we learn to put the group first." -Cale, Teaching Assisstant

"I learned to go with the flow, and not be nervous about what other people think of me." -Molly, 9- Student

"I feel most confident when during improv... or on a moon bounce." -Aja, 11- Student

"The teen troupe project is really helping my daughter discover her own power. That's what I want for her." -Jennifer

"Since my debate club students took a Wobble Rocket class, they've become much more effective communicators. They are able to turn the debate around by thinking of their opponent as their scene partner. They listen carefully, and build directly on what is said. It's a very positive, growth-oriented approach." -Barb

"The evaluation my teenager received at the end of class was extremely insightful and helpful. It let me know that his decision to continue classes is going to be a very positive thing for him. I look forward to next session!" -Pam

"My girls learn more faster, because they stay focused, accept and build on the directions, and make brave, experimental choices." -Barb
